Episode: 94
On today’s episode I chat with Justin Martin, an IFS therapist who lives in FL where he enjoys avoiding Disneyworld, taking advantage of the abundance of palm trees, and writing incredible poetry.
Justin has been IFS informed for a few years and is finishing his level one IFS training.
We talk about all things MEN. I so appreciate Justin’s openness and vulnerability during our conversation.
We cover:
– Men’s competitive parts
– Messages men get throughout their life and the need to exile vulnerable parts to fit in with the system around them
– Dating
– ‘Nice Guys’
– The term ‘Toxic Masculinity’
– Authenticity and Attachment
We end with Justin sharing several of his writings that are vulnerable and intimate.

I totally get what Justin is talking about in the “nice guy” discussion in podcast # 94. I have always been that “nice guy” and part of me hates that label. I think now since my burdened part was healed from childhood trauma, I am able to balance and find the “middle” as Justin said. But it took IFS therapy to unburden that “nice guy” part.
