Episode: 142
My book, The One Inside: 30 Days to Your Authentic Self, is available wherever you get books. Or on amazon here:
On today’s episode I chat again with Leslie Petruk, IFSI Lead Trainer, who wrote a chapter in the Altogether Us book entitled, “IFS and Parenting: Becoming an In-sightful Parent.”
We jump right in as Leslie and I talk ‘off mic’ about all things parenting, and I needed to include it in the episode for you!
We talk about:
- Parts who make meaning out of our kid’s behaviors
- Stages on development; Loss when kids grown older
- “We can only feel Joy at the depth we have felt pain.”- true in parenting
- Difficulty with separating out what is MINE and what is THEIRS
- Leading from a Self led place and not an Activated Parts place
She talks briefly about acronyms she describes in the book chapter:
- SHOVE – how we treat out Inner and External ‘kids’
- PAUSE- what we all need to have on our Fridge!
